| 1992 Volkswagen GTi |
| This is my new-to-me 1992 VW GTi. It's been many years since I've wanted a GTi. I found this car through a friend, who had a friend who was selling his GTi - and so the story goes. On Friday, August 25, 2006 I took her for a test drive. On Saturday, I drove her home. This is my 5th Mk2/A2 VW and maybe my 10th Vee-dub. Back in 1985, I bought a Polar Silver Jetta GL. In 1989, my then wife and I bought a new, white Golf GL coupe. In 1998, my sister moved to Belgium and gave me her 1989 Jetta Wolfsburg, which got totaled a year later. In 2004, I bought a silver Golf 4dr. from a guy on the VWVortex forum online. And now, finally! A GTi of 1992 vintage, the last of the 1.8-8V motors. I've also had 3 beetles - a '67, 72, and 73 as well as a 1979 Westfalia pop-top and a 1984 Vanagon GL... A little history... |
